SQLitePlus is a powerful database manager/viewer program and a COM wrapper DLL for the well-known SQLite C database engine (www.sqlite.org).
The SQLitePlus Admin tool allows you to open and view multiple databases simultaneously, examine table, view, trigger and index properties, and open multiple Query Windows.
The SQLite COM DLL makes it easy to access SQLite databases from high-level programs (eg. Visual Basic, .NET, Delphi, etc.).
Here is what the sqlite.org website says about SQLite:
`SQLite is a small, fast, embeddable SQL database engine that supports most of SQL92, including transactions with atomic commit and rollback, subqueries, compound queries, triggers, and views. A complete database is stored in a single cross-platform disk file.`
SQLite is written in C and therefore not accessible from many high-level languages. We have created an `ADO-like` wrapper COM DLL for the SQLite C library, making it possible (and easy) to use this powerful SQL database engine from higher level languages, such as Visual Basic, Delphi, C#, etc., but with NO ODBC/OLEDB drivers or ADO required.
The SQLitePlus viewer tool (SQLitePlus Admin) is a cross between SQL Server Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer. It allows you to open and view multiple databases simultaneously, examine table, view, trigger and index properties, and open multiple Query Windows simultaneously. Query results are displayed in a grid control and allows you to copy data to the Windows Clipboard for transfer to other programs.
SQLitePlus fills the gap for software developers who need a high-performance, lightweight SQL database for their commercial software products, and that doesn`t require all of the ODBC/OLEDB drivers and ADO software. |
